キンモクセイは中国では桂花樹と呼ばれ、もともとは中国原産の常緑小低木です。
秋になるとオレンジ色の小さな花を咲かせ、甘い香りが遠くまで広がります。その花を9月下旬から10月にかけての開花直前に手で摘み取り、そこに紅茶に近い味わいの「東方美人茶」をブレンドしてつくったのがこの「桂花美人茶」。柑橘系の爽やかなキンモクセイの香りと、紅茶のようなほのかな甘い味わいが人気です。
（80〜85℃のお湯で淹れると美味しくお飲みいただけます。）
